LT...how good is he?

Ok so, LT (and not the LT from my youth - Lawrence Taylor, but the LT of my 20s LaDainian Tomlinson) just tied and broke Shaun Alexander's TD record set last year during his MVP season, which was breaking the record of Priest Holmes a few years ago (who is now out of the NFL, probably forever, but not worrying the Chiefs b/c of Mr. Larry Johnson), who broke the record of my man Marshall Faulk, who broke the Emmitt Smith record. So the top 5 TD scorers of all time have all been in the last...10 years, so certainly in my NFL watching days. It is with that particular point that I wish to engage the following question for debate, and I hope that you will all weigh in, even if you don't care about Football I'm sure someone can make a sarcastic or huomorous remark at my detriment.
I won't go so far...yet, to ask if LT is the best RB of all time, although we know that Marty sure thinks so. What I will ask however; is LT even the best RB of our NFL watching lifetime? (To qualify I will take that back as far as 1989, the 49ers/Bengals SuperBowl, the first football game I remember watching.) So in a span of 17 years, who was/is the greatest RB of that period?
There are a shitload of contenders, and I think strong cases can be made for many. Please let me know who you think it is. In addition, who's over-rated? So as to be fair, I will answer as well. I vote for Marshall Faulk. This is more of an all around back, with consistency throughout his career, a few SuperBowl appearances, and many records. I would vote for LT but he has had solid supporting cast, and he has only been at it 5 years now,. if he keeps it up another 3-4-5 years then no doubt. In addition, the most overrated back in the last 15 years is Shaun Alexander. I don't even feel like defending why I'm just saying he is.
