Rosie O'Donnell; SHUT THE FUCK UP

As you might be able to imply from the title today, I'm getting pretty sick of Rosie.
She just loves to pick fights with everyone doesn't she? I don't imagine her contract on The View will last much past this year. Ya no kidding, American Idol makes fun of challenged people, it also makes fun of non-talented people who aren't challenged either. I in turn just make fun of the show and choose not to watch it. Another show I don't watch: The View not a surprise, but good god Rosie, you ignorant loudmouth just shut your mouth already. Just in case you think I'm picking on her because of her gender/sexual orientation, don't; because I have no problem with Ellen Degeneres, I thought her sitcom was AWFUL like everyone else, but she seems to be quite good as a talk show host. So its not anti-Lesbian, it just seems like Rosie seems to feel like as soon as she came out it was then her god-given duty to be the embodiment of WHY people use the word "Butch Femi-Nazi". There are lots of very nice people out there regardless of their orientation/beliefs etc, etc. but she just seems to think everyone wants to know her opinion on EVERYTHING and I honestly believe that she thinks it is her duty and her 'place' to do so. I'm just waiting for her to pick a fight with Oprah and lose. For those of you who agree and want to pound Rosie, or for those who hate the Donald even more, I have attached a link for your enjoyment.
Cheers, and remember, everyone IS entitled to their own opinion, just not everyone has to voice theirs in front of millions of people every day about EVERY idea under the sun.
And some people's opinions are just wrong, even if they are entitled to them lol.

Wow. Boy am I glad I didn't turn off the game at 21-3.
Boy am I glad the Pats lost, and boy was it great how they lost.
Boy can you knock Peyton Manning after that?
I think not.
Rex Grossman will not outduel PM. The Bears D is great yes, but I don't think they can put 21 early points on the board.
I called the Saints to win the Super Bowl a few weeks ago, and I never really said who against but I was implying San Diego/Indy shootout. So I will say that I didn't get any of the final teams right but it doesn't matter.
Go Colts. You already made me happy by deflating the "Dynasty" of the Patriots. I hate Bellicheck, Brady and that smug SOB Bob Kraft.
FU Junior Seau. you shoulda retired bitch.
But in all honesty if you didn't enjoy that game, you're not a sportsfan, heck even if the Pats won I think it would still have been great.
Now to relax and figure out what to do for the next 26+ Sundays....

Sports Day in Gavin's Basement

Today is one of those great days when you can wake up around the crack of noon, stay in your PJs, maybe pull on an old hoody, and plant your ass down in front of the TV for a shitload of good old fashioned sporting events!
Hockey Day in Canada, as well as Round 2 the Divisional Playoffs in the NFL.
I will start with the NFL:
last weeks picks I went 3-1, would have been 4-0 but for the doofusness of Tony "Annointed One" Romo.
So as not to dwell, here are this weeks picks:
Indy vs. Baltimore: A tale of 2 teams who used to be other teams, Indy used to be the Baltimore Colts, and left in the middle of the night 23 years ago. Baltimore fans felt betrayed and bitched about it until they were the beneficiaries of the same act by Art Modell, who moved the Cleveland Browns to Baltimore to become the Ravens. Funny how you don't hear the old Baltimore Colts and their fans talking about how they screwed Cleveland over just like Indy screwed them over...but I digress...The happy ending to the story is, that Cleveland re-established a new team, once again the Browns, and have sucked. But The moral of the story is, steal a team from one city and you'll eventually have success. Back to the Game:
Indy has Peyton, Marvin, Reggie, and now Joseph...but I think the deciding X-factor in a LOW scoring game will be none other than...Adam Vinateri. The greatest clutch kicker ever. Ravens D is good enough to keep it a low scoring game, and Steve McNair gives them the ability to put some points on the board and keep it close. Provided the Colts D can keep the Ravens in check. Mind you they did it to Larry Johnson, so a washed up Jamal Lewis seems to be no problem.
Indy 17-13 over Baltimore

Philly vs. New Orleans. There is no way unless you are a Philly Fan (and then we know you are cold hearted and would boo your own grandmother) that you aren't loving the fairytale that the Saints are writing this year. Drew Brees resurgence, the emergence of Reggie Bush, Marques Colston as an early contenders for Rookie of year before SuperVince, Deuce McAllister having a solid year, and Sean Payton doing an amazing job getting this team to gel. From the opening game of the year, when the Saints blocked the Falcons punt and returned (well fell on it in the end zone) for a TD, and dismantled Vick and the SuperDome never stopped rocking. Even if the Saints don't win the Super Bowl, this season has done more for raising spirits in the Gulf Coast region, and in this day and age, its very few times we can still say that pro sports can make a difference for the positive in the world. This is one of those times, and I'll be cheering for the Saints. On top of that, other than home crowd and the hearts of people cheering them and the feel goodness of it, the Saints had the #1 offence in the league this year, and a D that was just out of the top 10. The Eagles had the #2 Offence, and thats due to the play of 3 people...McNabb, Westbrook, and Garcia. Ole Garcia may be a crafty vet, but I think the Philly D has to Blitz the bejesus out of Brees, but then again that may be the dumpoff to Bush plan, and this Bush, unlike the other one in Washington, gets things done.
Saints 27 over Eagles 21

Sunday Games: Seattle vs. Chicago. I hate Seattle, did I mention that last week? I think I did. If Tony Romo had made an extra leap we wouldn't even have to worry about it. Oh well, here we are. Bears D may be missing some key personel, but as long as Brian Urlacher is on Soldier Field on D they are fierce. I still think the Bears D will rise up, and Lovie Smith has them ready for the only meaningful game since about...November. Seattle has no secondary, so maybe they won't be able to pick off Rex the way the Pack did. Shaun Alexander is still good but not great, Matt Hasselback has no receivers to throw to, so if the Bears contain Alexander, the Bears win.
X-Factor : Devin Hester, has the ability to turn a game around in 5-6 seconds (he did it twice against my Rams, believe me I KNOW!) Seattle has had a decent D in the past, but I see this being a Running Backs football game. Pounding it all day long, Rex only need throw about 15-20 times. as long as he only gets picked once or less.
Bears 19 Seahawks 10

NE vs. SD. I love watching the Chargers just eat up field. But I have also seen the Pats do it with Run or Pass. Rodney Harrison being out is huge. Against his old team he won't be able to make an impact, which means Vincent Jackson and Keenan McCardell should be able to have it a bit easier. But might as well stick with what got you where you are now. Gates and LT, LT in a BIG way. Rivers has got better, but I don't like his chances in a shootout versus Tom "The Rings are too heavy on my fingers" Brady. Look for Martyball all day long. LT gets about 35+ carries and 10 catches. Nickel and Dime them to death and eat up a lot of clock. Ironically I see the Pats trying the same thing. Corey Dillon and Lawrence Maroney are a great tandem at RB. The Pats dont have many receivers other than Reche Caldwell (former Charger) so I see them using Watson the TE a lot as well. Both teams have great D, I look for Shaun Merriman to wreak havoc, and if the Pats can't contain him there's your game right there. Tom BRady doesn't play well when he's getting hit or hurried. Mind you if they give him time, Tom Brady will be Tom Brady and unless LT starts to play D as well, he can only do so much. X -Factors: Chargers RB Michael Turner as a rester for LT is great. Pats continue their first playoff without Mr. Clutch Adam Vinatieri. Bellicheck is a great coach, but Marty is nearing the end and very hungry with the best team record-wise in football. However, the only hard Games the Chargers had they lost, versus the Baltimore D, and a big matchup against KC round one they lost. They also pulled out the close win over Seattle who aren't nearly as good as NE.
As much as I like to watch Tomlinson...I'm worried.
this is a hard one to call...
San Diego 21 over NE 20

Rest of the year:
Indy vs. SD in AFC Championship...shootout.
New Orleans vs. Chicago...Destiny and Rex Grossman's mistakes.
Superbowl: New Orleans.
mind you either way, this is gonna be a fun playoffs to watch no matter who gets in, as long as Seattle and Philly go home this week.

Playoff Picks

OK here we go, before kickoff on wildcard weekend:

Indy over KC - Peyton and co have a better O than KC's defence, and return of Bob Sanders on Indy D makes the diff to holding LJ under 200 yrds .

Dallas over Seattle - I hate Dallas, but I hate Seattle more, and they shouldn't be in the playoffs. Rams should have beat them but they collapsed. anyhow that doesn't matter. Shaun Alexander is not the force he was, Hasselback has no receivers, and their D isn't that good. Dallas has a decent D and Romo has a chance to keep writing the great story. Owens and Glenn run all over the non-existant SEattle secondary.

NE over NYJ - I have to pick one upset, and since it happened once already this year...That won't happen here. Bellicheck won't get shown up again by Mangini. plus Tom BRady as much as i hate him is tom brady. Pennington was good this year but brady is brady. and lawrence maroney has a big game.

Philly over Giants - a tale of 2 teams. one collapsing barely makes it in, one rallies around a new QB and starts to play real football. Westbrook takes over, Stallworth and Brown hold onto Garcia passes. Eli plays like Eli, Tiki goes home early, plaxico drops some more balls. Shockey gets mad at all of them.

The year in Review

Well apologies to all for being away for this long, but I will be posting a year review asap.
I was a the Ottawa-Atlanta game on New Years Day, and got back yesterday. Entertaining but I'd have preferred a Habs game.
