Ramble On

Asst'd sports musings.

Ok here's some stuff to get off the chest.

1) Chris Long is a very solid Defensive pick for the Rams and I like the WR at 2nd round too. Howie Long is a douche but he was a helluva player and Dad can only have imparted a bit o' wisdom to the lad. Finally I have some confidence going forward.

2) MTL didn't deserve Game 1, but luckily I didn't manage to watch so I was saved a Heart Attack much like I suffered in the 3rd period of Game 6.

3) Though we lost last night, I wasn't all that upset, b/c we didn't lose, we got beat by a hot goalie.

4)Steve, does it make me less of a fan or a more mature & balanced one that I can admit my team lost and its ok?

5) There is no 5

The Century Club!

Wow so that's 100 posts now in...well more than a year I bet. Not very prolific but it also means luckily I'm not on the computer 24/7. That or I'm just not as interesting as Steve or something.
Thanks for those who read, have read or might read. I could care less but sometimes its nice to write stuff down if for nothing else than to ensure you don't lose the ability to do so.

On another note, I've also managed to avoid Facebook...Until today. I decided it had been long enough, and in these times it seems a good idea. I resisted as long as possible (especially difficult when I was doing online research...on the computer...all day) but I finally gave in. So I'll look forward to that being the greatest thing since what, the wheel? sliced bread? fire? Coca Cola? The Dukes of Hazzard? what? anyhow, I'll have to see if it's worth all the hype ;)

My god, did the Habs suck last night or what? That was such a lacklustre performance I turned it off before the end. Gross. I thought after the helmet-less Kovalev goal it would inspire the troops...well not so much. Carey Price looked like a rookie for the first time in a while (coincidentally I saw his 2nd ever start here in OTT against the Sens - may they be enjoying the golf season now.) and I was once again pissed off with Brisebois (Breezeby as Sage and I call him)
Let's hope they get their game back on.

On a final other note, I have a new job working for the Man! the Man takes the form of the Canadian government this time...I can't believe it but living it Ottawa, it kinda makes sense, and well I don't feel like its going to define who I am by what I do, everyone who knows me knows that. So as much as the younger version of myself would be thinking WTF, I'm saying its a means to an end, ie. free on long weekends this summer to enjoy things!

Adios

Can you identify who spoke these words?

I just came across this, and I think in a nutshell, it pretty much sums up what happened to Much Music and MTV, and why they're worthless now unless you want to see the Surreal Life 17 (The Guy from Chumbawumba, Eric Carmen, Monica Lewinsky, a Chimp named Bubbles, and some guy with tattoos).

"This is an emergency crisis we're in. The entertainment media is affecting everything on the planet in a very negative way. I'm only interested in rock 'n' roll. Rock 'n' roll is a music that represents truth. Your TV channel has taken the word "rock" and knocked the "roll" off the end. You made rock this umbrella term for everything. That's wrong. Shakira isn't rock. These country artists with fur coats aren't rock - or country. I offered a video to VH1 of my band playing in the studio and they don't want to air it because it had musicians playing in it. They want some babe walking on the beach or whatever. I got turned onto this music by watching the Beatles and the Rolling Stones actually on TV playing their guitars. It completely took me over. When you can't see musicians playing any more, I'm not interested any more."

I'll take your guesses, and bonus if you don't have to google it.
